I thought the news alert was a hoax, a sick, twisted hoax, only to see Prince’s death notification officially confirmed. Since the age of 14, Prince’s music has always been a part of my life, and the lives of many.

I’ve seen him live twice, once at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans and again at the Superdome in New Orleans with Sheila E and The Time again.

His concerts were always amazing!! His songs are always in rotation on music player, with Girl 6 soundtrack as well as Dirty Mind and Come albums regularly played.

My top three favorite Prince songs are:

Partyup

Controversy

Computer Blue

It is hard to believe that another musical genius has left us too soon, while I can think of so many evil persons whose existence here is still baffling (Cheney-Dick without a heart, George Zimmerman without a soul, serial predators, the murderer of my brother and so many others like them).

But Prince is gone but never forgotten, as his music cannot be forgotten and will live on forever.
